Co-founders · hospitality & backcountry

The Founders. Father and son. And the reason the trips run the way they do.

Wild Table Outfitters was founded by Stacy and Colt Kuiack, two generations of one family working between the west coast of Vancouver Island and the wilderness of the BC Interior. One or both of them is in the field on every signature expedition.

Co-founder · Hospitality

Stacy Kuiack

Vancouver · Vancouver Island · Sea To Sky Corridor · The Chilcotins

Born in 100 Mile House, raised on rural Vancouver Island. Fly fisher, hunter, kitchen lead and Accredited Sommelier. Stacy built the company around the food, the water and the field.

A career in real estate development but a real love for food and the outdoors led Stacy here. He's a life-long angler, hunter and outdoorsman with his Sommelier, Wilderness First Responder and Marine Captain's certifications.

In the field · in the kitchen

Two generations. One table.

The story of Wild Table is the life these two live every day — in the truck, on the dock, around the fire, or at the stove.

Why it's built this way

Why two of us.

Neither of us could run these trips alone. We have taught each other our halves over the years, which means that by the time a guest arrives the programme is genuinely built from both ends rather than handed off at mid-day — one of us is with you from breakfast to the water to dinner.

Stacy came up through professional kitchens and BC ranching country. He is an Accredited Sommelier, a Wilderness First Responder and a boat captain, and he grew up in hunting camps, canoes, powerboats and pickups. Colt grew up on Vancouver Island ski hills, mountain bike trails and powerboat docks, and was mentored in the kitchen by our chefs. Different paths, the same view of how a day outdoors is supposed to feel.

Most outfitters are one person's vision. Wild Table is the agreement two of us had to come to about what good actually looks like — from the first cast at dawn to the last pour at the end of the table. We think the trips are better for it.

“Stacy ran the trip with a steady, easy hand, and he and Colt worked as a genuine team, each stepping in exactly where needed. Colt clearly knows this country and was generous with that knowledge.”

Sheringham Distillery

Founded by Jason and Alayne MacIsaac in Shirley, British Columbia, Sheringham Distillery creates spirits inspired by Vancouver Island’s forests, coastline and wild botanicals.
