The Location
Three to five days of alpine lake fly fishing on Tyaughton Lake, paired with hiking, riding and full-board hospitality at Tyax. Rainbow, bull trout and Dolly Varden in deep, cold water ringed by some of the most dramatic terrain in the province. The large chalets take up to eighteen guests, which makes this the location for a group that will not fit anywhere else.
Tyaughton Lake sits in the South Chilcotin Range, deep and cold and surrounded by dense forest and open alpine. Fishing is for rainbow, bull trout and Dolly Varden, with mixed presentation through the season — sub-surface for most of it, dry when conditions hand it to you. What the terrain adds is everything a stillwater programme normally cannot: trailheads from the door, alpine lookouts, and riding that starts where the road ends.
Tyax is a full resort, which is what makes eighteen guests possible. When the large chalets are booked for a group, our team stays at the lodge and the chalet is entirely yours.
